Sub:- Appointment of Inquiry Officer in departmental enquiry cases.

Ref :- 1. G.O. Ms. No.2/81-CVO dated 07-12-1981 of the Chief Vigilance Office,
                    Pondicherry

         2. This office I.D. Note /Memorandum No. C/13015/18/93-CVO dated 13-07-1993.

   Reference is invited to the G.o. cited on the above subject.

2. It is noticed that in many of the cases of departmental enquiries conducted as the concerned disciplinary authorities are appointing officers of their own choice as Inquiry Officer, contrary to the instructions laid down in the G.O. cited in stipulating entrustment of all enquiries against Government Servants to the Inquiring Authority (now Under Secretary to Government ( Departmental Inquiries), for ready reference) 

3)  All the Secretariat Departments / Heads of Department / Heads of Offices/ disciplinary authorities are requested to adhere strictly to the above said instructions.
