Officer - Duties and responsibilities - CHIEF VIGILANCE OFFICE G.O.MS. NO.2/81-CVO Pondicherry, dated 07-12-1981 ORDER The Lieutenant Governor is pleased to order that the duties and responsibilities of the Inquiry Officer appointed in the Chief Vigilance Office will be as follows:- The Inquiry Officer will be entrusted with all departmental enquiries against Government Servants (Group 'A' to Group 'D' ) to be initiated and conducted under rule 14 of the CCS (CCA) Rule 1965 and involving offences of grave nature and moral turpitude like misappropriation, occasion in less of Government money, mismanagement, misuse of Power and authority, and offences involving grave negligence and dereliction of duty and departmental enquiries conducted as result of established by the vigilance enquiry. 2. Enquires coming under the purview of Central Vigilance Commission will be taken care of by their own Commissioners for Departmental, Enquiries and petty cases like minor dereliction of duty, unauthorized absence etc., will be dealt at the departmental level. 3. Such of those disciplinary authorities as are contemplating enquiry against Government Servants under rule 14 of the CCS (CCA) Rules.1965 for cases of the nature indicated in para 1 will have to issue separate orders appointing Thiru C.V.S Rama Rao as Inquiring Authority under the said rules for each case. / BY ORDER OF LT.
