I.D.NOTE / MEMORANDUM

                                Sub: Improving Vigilance Administration – Sensitising the Public
                                         about corruption.
                        Ref: This department’s I.D.note / Memorandum of even number 
                                        dated 9.1.2003 and 23.1.2003.  

              Attention is invited to references cited on the subject mentioned above.

            2.Consequent on the change of Central Vigilance Commissioner, New Delhi and Chief Vigilance Officer, Pondicherry, instructions were issued to all Heads of Departments / Offices, Chief Executives of Public Sector Undertakings and Municipal Bodies, to effect the changes in the Notice Board sensitising public about corruption.  It was also informed that an inspection would be conducted to confirm whether the changes have been incorporated in the Notice Boards.  Despite the aforesaid specific instructions, it was found during inspection that certain Departments / Offices have not incorporated the changes in their Notice Boards.  This has been viewed very seriously by the Chief Vigilance Officer.

            3.All Heads of Departments are therefore, directed to effect the requisite changes stipulated in the reference cited within next week.  Thereafter an inspection will be carried out.  Eventhen if the changes are not effected, the Chief Vigilance Officer will be constrained to issue a severe warning recordable in their Annual Confidential Reports. 
           
4.The receipt of the I.D. note / Memorandum should be acknowledged.
